Amazon Prime 3 month trial for $1

I’ve always wanted to try Amazon Prime, but have frankly been too cheap to pay the annual $79 charge. However, Amazon is now offering up a 3 month trial (normally they only offer a 1 month trial) & I had to snag it! If you don’t know the benefits of Prime Membership, you get unlimited free 2-day shipping, unlimited upgrades to next day shipping for $3.99, & there is no minimum order size!

What you have to do is add a qualifying textbook to your cart. At checkout you will see a “Free Prime membership trial” option under the shipping options. This will give you free 2 day shipping & start your membership. I’ve read that you can click on the icon to start the trial & then actually remove the item from your cart & & still get the trial membership for free, but I went ahead & ordered “Jane Eyre” because I don’t have a copy of it & it was only$3.50. But, you might get the trial for free, if you’re so inclined. However, the books are classics & super cheap, so why not order one?

The books that qualify (as far as I know) are:

Romeo & Juliet, $1

William Shakespeare’s Complete Sonnets, $2

Jane Eyre, $3.50

Tess of the d’Urbervilles, $3.50

Great Expectations, $3.50

Oliver Twist, $3.50

When your free 3 month trial is over, it is set up to automatically charge your credit card the $79 annual fee. However, to prevent this from happening, go to your account, Settings, then Manage Prime Membership. You can click to remove the automatic upgrade & will be charged nothing. This is an excellent way to try Amazon Prime, so snag the offer while it lasts!

Thanks Deal Seeking Mom for this info!

TastyBaby Tastings

TastyBaby is a company that quite simply, rocks. If you haven’t tried their products yet, you should! My daughter is in love with their organic fruit snacks, however they are kinda hard to find. I’m gonna have to break down & order some online until retailers in the Puget Sound area start stocking them. But, you can easily find their organic baby food locally.

TastyBaby is hosting tastings nationwide, so if you live in a city with one, definately go & try them. Also, you’ll score coupons, recipes, totes, & more! Click here for the details.

20% off Hanna Andersson's sale prices

Hanna Andersson is having a sale featuring 20% off their already reduced hannasale items. Now, I think these are their holiday & winter lines, so you’d have a few months left of cold weather to wear these, or stock up for next year. Some of the items are marked down to 70% already, & you can then take an additional 20% off!

The sale is in store only & is going on now through Jan. 3rd. If you want to check it out though, go online to get an idea of what the prices are, but just know that inventory at your local stores will vary.

Earth's Best Diapers $1.50/jumbo pack

Update: Toys R Us has a printable coupon for $2 off, bringing the price down to $1.50 per pack. That's insane! Go here for the coupon.

Jan 1st – Jan 3rd ONLY Babies R Us & Toys R Us are having a fantastic deal on Earth’s Best Diapers. The Jumbo packs are nornally $11.99 but will be on sale for $5 a pack, which is a great deal. However, you can go here & print out a coupon for $1.50 off, bringing the price down to $3.50 per pack!

I never tried these when my daughter was in diapers, but wish I had. Now that I know about the benefits of chlorine free cotton, I would jump at this deal. Trust me, if you knew what happened to standard cotton in the USA, you’d be disgusted & wouldn’t want it anywhere near your child’s bum. And at this price, why wouldn’t you give them a try?!?!

Thanks to Frugal Chic Living for this.

Mikasa 40 piece set 78% off

Amazon has a smokin’ deal on a Mikasa 40 piece Parchment Red set. It is selling for $129.99 with free shipping & normally retails for $580! Plus, right now Amazon has a promo where if you spend $50 or more from a single seller from the home & garden section (which this purchase would automatically qualify) you can get a free 1 year subscription to GQ, SELF, Conde Nast Traveler or Architectural Digest included with your purchase. However, if you don’t want the subscription, you can get a $10 refund, bringing the net price of this set down to $119.99!

So, if you’re done entertaining for the holidays & have realized you want some nice china, this is an excellent deal that won’t break the bank. Even if you only use it for Christmas, you would definately get your money’s worth. You could easily spend this much, if not more, buying dinnerware at Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, etc.

Click here to see the set. Click here to read the details on the magazine subscription promo/refund.

20% off at Sephora

Thru Thursdsay, 12/31, Sephora is offering 20% off your order. Use code: EXTRA at checkout. Also, don’t forget to check Sephora’s sale items here. There is always a great selection of products discounted that make them worth a try. I saw some Sephora eye shadows marked down to $5 & a Carol’s Daughter lip gloss for only $6! Plus, you get 20% off the sale price.

I’m going to do some damage & stock up on my DDF products. As always, orders over $50 ship free!

Leapster games for $7.50 each

Several times a year, Toys R Us has the Leapster games on sale BOGO, & this week is one of those times. So, you can get two Leapster games for $24.99, or $12.50 each. Good deal, right? No, it gets even better!

Right now on www.coupons.com there are $5 off Leapster coupons (just look under the entertainment section). Print off two of those, head over to Toys R Us. Buy 2 Leapster games, pay $24.99, but then get $10 off after using your coupons. So, you're paying $14.99 for 2...or $7.50 each! That's unbelievable!

My daughter is pretty set on games after Christmas, but at this price I may get a few for Valentine's Day or Easter. Oh, & you should look for two other coupons while on coupons.com. There is a $4 off Tag book coupon & a $2 off Tag Jr book coupon. I definately will look for a new Tag book & use that coupon as well!

Thanks Hip2Save for this!

Shutterfly deals

Are you ready to tackle the clutter now that 2009 is drawing to an end? Start with your photos! Come on, admit it....your photos are either still on your camera, or you've uploaded them to your computer & done nothing with them since. We all do this. But, here's a little incentive from Shutterfly that might get you in the mood to stay organized this year.

This week, Shutterfly has several deals to consider.

1) Order a photobook, get additional ones for 30% off. (Must be of the same book; Martha Stewart books excluded). Order a few holiday ones & hand them out to family!

2) Calendars are 20% off. This would be a great way to continue staying organized throughout the new year.

3) Create a new Share site, or add photos, & get 50 free prints. Share sites are a new Shutterfly feature. They are secure, personal web pages you create to share with family & friends. You can share info with your site's members such as calendars, schedules, events, video, etc. And visitors to your Share site can order prints, photobooks, etc. from your site. This sounds like a great way to stay connected with distant relatives (& let's be real, distant relatives usually make the best relatives, right?!).

4) Address labels are 20% off.

5) Select stationary gifts are 20% off.

6) If you like to send out holiday cards after the crazy influx we all get in December (I keep meaning to do Happy New Year cards & never get around to it), there are two things to note on Shutterfly's site right now. You can order holiday cards & get free shipping using code: SHIPCARDS. Or, you can add a personalized greeting, supply your address list, & they will mail them out for you...no stamp needed! The same code is used: SHIPCARDS. Note that this deal expires 12/29/2009.

Ok....there are a few ideas to help you tackle the organization of your photos. Now, it's just a matter of finding the time to acutally do it! Click here to go to Shutterfly's deals page.

January SCR starts tomorrow at Rite Aid

The new month of Single Check Rebates (SCR) starts Sunday, 12/27/09 & goes through 1/23/10 at Rite Aid. Some of the deals are weekly, some are valid during the entire promotion, so be sure to check the dates carefully.

What's SCR, you ask? If you're not familiar with it, Single Check Rebates is a promotion that Rite Aid runs every month (however the dates do not match the calendar month so be careful to check) where you get a specified rebate for items that are included with the promo. Most items are limited to one rebate per household unless otherwise noted. You can purchase one or all of the items featured during the SCR month, but you can only request ONE check per promo period. So, if you request a check & then purchase other items that are included, you're out of luck. It's essential you wait until you're confident that you will not be buying anything else in the promo period before requesting your check. I recommed doing it at the very end of the period, or even a day or two after, to ensure you don't lose out on any last minute deals. Then Rite Aid sends you a check that you simply cash.

You can score some very cheap, free, or even deals that make you money with SCR. I've made money on numerous items, especially if you use a coupon on the purchases. Yes, you get the full rebate value back EVEN if you use a coupon to buy the product! Pretty sweet deal, in my opinion.

Check out the program here to view the items in this next SCR promo period. Again, remember to check the dates; some of these are good this week only, some the entire time.

Zune on sale at Amazon

Did your plea for a mp3 player go ignored this holiday season? Perhaps you just need to buy one for yourself! Amazon has several colors of the Zune on sale. The lowest priced one I could find was the 4GB in Pink. It's $68.60 + $4.99 in shipping.

I realize the Zune isn't as widely accepted as the iPod, but it does have some cool features. And hey, Bill Gates would be proud of you for buying one. Get the info here.

Target coupons

Target has a bunch of new coupons on their website that you can print off (they now limit it to 2 prints per computer). In fact, there are quite a few coupons for holiday items such as candy, flavored coffee creamer, etc. Pair those up with MQ's & clearance prices, & you can score free or extremely cheap products!

Go here to check out the coupons.

Lands End Facebook contest

Become a fan of Lands End on Facebook & get entered to win a $100 gift card. If you're already a fan, you're already entered. Head over to Facebook & look for Lands End's page for the details!

Williams Sonoma has started their big Winter Sale both online & in store. Now, if you're venturing out to the mall today, I bow to you because I'm staying as far away as possible. If you want to shop online though, here's the info.

Mill Creek deals

This is just for my local peeps. Lil' Lads & Lasses in the Mill Creek Town Center has a sale tomorrow (12/24) from 10 am - 2 pm only. Holiday clothing & accessories sizes 4 & up will be 50% off. Plus you can get an additional 10% off clearance items.

Additionally, Town Center Toys (inside Lil' Lads & Lasses) will be offering 20% off all toys & 30% off holiday toys.

If you need something, I'd suggest getting there early, as quantities are limited.

Woodland Park Zoo: Kids Get in Free

From now thru Jan 3rd, kids get in free to Woodland Park Zoo with each paying adult. So, one paying adult gets one kid in for free (2 adults, 2 kids & so on). Just say "Winter Fun" when paying.

This would make an excellent activity to keep your kids busy during Chrismas break. I know we don't go to the zoo in the winter, so it would make a great change of pace!

Thanks Thrify NW Mom!

Kindle delivered in time for Christmas!

Amazon has free 1 day shipping on the Kindle....but it's only available for the next 5 1/2 ish hours. Click here to order...but you have to hurry!

Free Lego Magazine Subscriptions

If you have a child who is into Legos this makes a great gift...& it's free! Click here to get a free 2 year subscription to Lego Club Magazine. You can also go here to get a 2 year subscripton to Lego Club Jr., for ages 6 & under.

If you don't have a Lego lover in your house, think outside the box: neighbor kids, classmates, heck, even the public library! I mean, it's free....& you can certainly afford that!

Thanks to Frugal Living NW!

The Body Shop

The Body Shop has some great online deals including some products 50% off! I even saw a cute lip gloss for $1! Obviously these won't make it before Christmas, but you can score some great stuff for a little post-holiday relaxtation.

Don't forget, The Body Shop has some organic products. I didn't look at all of the specials, so I don't know if there are any organic items on sale, but it's certainly possible.

Check the sale out here.

Yankee Candle Coupon

I'm actually not a huge fan of Yankee Candles, but I know lots of other people do. And this is a GREAT coupon! Go here & print out a $10/$25 coupon. It's actually valid thru 1/16/10 so I'm guessing you could pair this with some great after Christmas sales & really score!

Thanks Deal Seeking Mom!

eShakti clothing

I haven't ordered from this site before, but I think I'm already in love. eShakti has very fashionable items in sizes 0-26. But here's where it gets more interesting: You can customize the pieces however you want! Like the shirt but want the sleeve 3/4 length? No problem! Want the neckline lower? You betcha! And IT'S ONLY $10 FOR THIS SERVICE.

Additionally, you can enter in your measurements & it stores it, so you don't have to enter them in again each time you order. Simply change them if your measurements change & you're good to go.

This is pretty cool, in my opinion. Let me know if you order anything from them!
Amazon Video on Demand is giving people a free $4 credit. You can watch on your computer or on your tv if you're savvy enough to have that hooked up (I am uh...not). Prices start at 99 cents & go up so this could result in a few shows to watch!

Go here & then use code AVODGIFT after clicking on the "Enter Your Code" button.

This would be a great way to get some holiday movies now that the kiddos are out on holiday break or simply catch up on movies you've been wanting to watch!

Holy Doublers!

So, if you're into Q's you likely know that Albertson's often has Doublers in their ads (a coupon that will double the value of a Manufactuer's Coupon [MQ] up to $1). However, if you're in the greater S. Sno. County area, here's something to note: Olson's Food Emporium in Mukilteo (maybe it's technically north Lynnwood) had 6 doublers in Sunday's ad. But...they double up to $2! And there is no date specified on it!! The ad is good thru 12/29 so I'm guessing the doublers go that long too, but maybe they don't have an expiration? I need to find out for sure.

Anyway, if you're in the area, these would make it worth the trip for sure!

Old Navy Deal

Old Navy has a deal thru 12/24 where you can get 20% off gift cards that you can print out here. That's pretty rare, but it gets better yet.

In Sunday's paper, there was a 30% off one item coupon. Or, there is a $10/$50 coupon you can print out here (note: this coupon is good thru 1/15/10 so you could print out more than one & use it for some after Christmas deals too!).

So, here's how you can really make this work for you. Go in & buy a gift card using the 20% off coupon. Then do a second transaction & buy whatever you want (many things like hoodies, shirts, etc. are on sale for $5 now). Use the 30% off one item Q from the paper or the $10/$50
Q depending on your total. Then use your gift card to pay for the second transaction. It's like getting an additonal 20% off your total!

Thanks to Frugal Chic Living for this!

Ctrl Alt Delete Cups

Just because I think these are cute, I'm posting them. No deals on it, although I think the price is ok on it's own. They just made me snicker & I can pretty much guarantee no one else will be giving this, so you don't need to worry about the recipient getting two!

Ctl Alt Delete Cups

Crate & Barrel...in time for Christmas

Thru tomorrow (12/22) any order $100 or more will receive free express shipping. Note: this order MUST be placed by noon CT. There are a few exclusions (furniture, monogrammed items, etc) but most things qualify. This is for you, last minute shoppers!

Tinkerbell DVD for $4.99

Target has the "Tinkerbell & the Lost Treasure" DVD Combo pack on sale for $19.99 but you can get it for $4.99! Here's how:

Go here & print out the $10 MQ then go here & print out the $5 TQ (it has Transformers pictured but you can use it on any Blu Ray). To avoid any hassles from a clerk, hand over the MQ first, then the TQ. This will bring the price down to $4.99!

If I can get out tonight without my daughter, I'm gonna snag this. What a great stocking stuffer!

Thanks to Thrift NW Mom!

Hanna Andersson Sale

Hanna Andersson is having their big Twice Yearly Sale! I love Hanna clothes. They definately aren't cheap, but they are fantastic quality; they come out of the wash like new every.single.time. They use European sizes, but I actually love it because I've gotten items that have lasted more than one season (my daughter is currently wearing a sweater that she wore last year...what other brand can you say lasts two winters, fits, & looks brand new?!). And don't forget that they have an excellent selection of 100% organic cotton clothing (don't even get me started on what happens to non-organic clothing; blech!).

You can order online, head to a store (the local one is the U Village), or head to an Outlet (Woodinville, locally) however, I don't think the Outlet stores are participating in this sale. They often have great $10 sales at the outlets, though!

Willaims Sonoma free shipping in time for Christmas

If you order by 9am PST tomorrow (12/22) Williams Sonoma will guarantee delivery in time for Christmas! I love me some Williams Sonoma & know that I'm not the only one, so this is an excellent opportunity to score some last minute gifts that people actually want. Happy shopping!

Brooks Brothers deal

Oh, the days when Brooks Brothers didn't seem too ridiculously overpriced. I suppose it's a sign of the times, eh? However if you're still shopping there, they have a nice little deal for Christmas.

If you buy $150 or more in gift cards (it can be one card or multiples) you will get a free leather wallet card case. Nice! These are great for business cards or even as a simple wallet (my husband uses one from Coach because he doesn't like a big wallet). So, you can easily get several gift cards, knock a few people off your list, & keep the wallet for yourself....or give it away as well.

Origins delivered by Christmas

Thru 12/21, Origins is offering up free 2 day shipping on any order. Just enter 2DayFree at checkout & your package will arrive in time for the holidays. Oh, & Origins has several products that are USDA certified Organic!

Fred Meyer Organic sale

So, Freddie's has a HUGE sale on organics right now! Westbrae Natural, Santa Cruz, Earth's Best, Natracare, Annie's Naturals, etc. Tons of stuff for super cheap (well, super cheap for organic!). I got organic cranberry jelly for $1.59, organic canned corn for $1 each (I use them for taco soup...mmm) & they had other veggies for $1 each, organic white grape juice for $2.99 (it was $3.99 but I had a $1 coupon), Annie's Naturals fruit snacks for $3.49 (sale $3.99 - 50 cent coupon), & a bunch of other products.

This seemed to be a much better sale on organic products. Or perhaps it was because I was by myself & had time to wander the aisles without my family telling me to hurry up. But, if you need to stock up, now is a fantastic time to do so.

Sony E-Reader & free book downloads

Ok, so personally I think Barnes & Noble's Nook is the only e-reader that would tempt me, but alas...they are sold out. However, Target has a pretty sweet deal on their Sony e-readers if you need to get one for someone on your holiday list.

On Target's website, they have a coupon for a free Sony $25 prepaid e-Book card with the purchase of either the Sony PRS300SC Pocket Reader ($199.99) or the PRS600BC Touch Reader ($299.99). I'm not sure what the Sony downloads cost, but this would be a nice bonus if you're giving the e-reader as a gift.

To get the coupon, go to Target's website, scroll to the bottom & look for the column "Target Stores." The third option down is "Grocery Coupons." Click on that & then look under electronics.

Cheap Magazine Subscriptions

Amazon has some magazine subscriptions for super cheap! We're talking $5 or $10...for a year! You could order a subscription, buy the current issue, & wrap that issue up with a note saying you purchased the subscription & this would make a great gift.

Damn you Amazon & your 1 Click ordering. I just ordered Sunset & InStyle for myself! At least it only cost $15 for both.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&ccmID=380205&ref_=xs%5Fgb%5Frss%5F171513&tag=rssfeeds-20&docId=1000467971

Netbook Deal....Shipped in 2 Days

Amazon has an Acer Netbook on sale for $279.99 with free 2 day shipping. It's pretty cute; I love the blue color. If you know someone wanting a netbook, this would be a great gift.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B002MUCC3Y/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

I'm still not sure about netbooks, though. You could get a cheap laptop for about the same price. I do think they would be great as a secondary computer, though. If you have a netbook, leave a comment about the pros & cons of them.
