Skin MD Natural Review & Giveaway

If I were a super hero, I'm convinced my name would be The Emolliator. I am constantly applying lotion, body cream, lip balm, etc. It's a bit of an obsession, but as far as obsessions's harmless. Assuming the products you're applying don't contain any nasty stuff. Which is why I was thrilled when the kind folks over at Skin MD Natural offered to send me a bottle of Skin MD Natural Face, Hand, & Body Shielding Lotion.

If you are unfamiliar with Skin MD Natural, here are a few facts about their products:
  • Free of animal products (vegan & cruelty free)

  • Not tested on animals

  • Manufactured in the US using 100% solar power

  • Contain 93% natural source ingredients; all others are of food or medical grade quality & on the FDA's most safe list.

  • Hypoallergenic

  • Paraben free

In addition to all those cool facts, what I liked about this lotion is that it is a shielding lotion. Most lotions just try to replace the lost moisture in our skin (the key word there is try). A shielding lotion does that & also strengthens our skin's natural barrier, which prevents toxins from damaging out skin & removing moisture.

By now you're probably wondering how it worked. Let me remind you....I'm The Emolliator, so I have tried a lot of lotion. I can honestly tell you that this is probably the least greasy lotion I've ever used. It absorbs almost instantly, leaving your skin soft & silky. Even after washing my hands, they still felt smooth & I didn't have to reapply each time I washed my hands. There is very little scent, so if you have any sensitivities, you shouldn't have a problem. Also, a little goes a long way! The first few times I used it, I applied way too much because I was used to other brands. A bottle will last quite a while.

You can order directly from Skin MD Natural or also from Amazon. There are a few deals depending on how many bottles you order directly from Skin MD Natural, so be sure to check them out. However, if you want to try this lotion free, one lucky BMIM reader will win a full sized bottle of Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion!

To enter, leave a comment with a way to get in touch with you (important; how else can I let you know if you win?). For an additional entry, like BMIM on Facebook & leave another comment letting me know you did so. For another entry, like Skin MD Natural on Facebook & leave a comment letting me know you did so.

The winner will be picked at 9pm PST on Sunday, March 13th. Good luck & thank you Skin MD Natural!

Walgreens: Day 7 of 7 Days of Deals

Today is the last day of deals at Walgreens. Today only get a 11 oz. collage coffee mug for $2.99 (regularly $13.99!). This would make a great Father's Day or end of school gift. I think a teacher would love a mug created with photos from field trips, class parties, etc!

Shipping appears to be $5.99, but that is still reasonable given the low cost of the mug. Remember, this is good today only, so don't delay if you want this!

Paper Mate Ball Point Pens $.08 Each!

If your house is anything like my house, you can never find a pen that works when you need one. So when I saw this deal, I was pretty happy about it. Currently over at Amazon, you can purchase a box of 60 Paper Mate Medium Tip Ball Point pens in blue ink for only $4.88! That makes each pen just $.08! They have black ink as well, however that box is $9.13. And if you are an Amazon Mom member, you'll get free 2 day shipping on this order, as well!

This would be a great deal for any family wAdd Imageith kids in school, if you own a small business, or if you are an independent sales rep for a direct sales company. I know when I used to do in home parties I always needed a ton of pens!

Amazon has been known to change their pricing at any time, so if you want this deal, snag it now.

Walgreens: Day 6 of 7 Days of Deals

Today's freebie will take some effort on your part, simply because it will be time consuming to create. However, if you're staying home tonight instead of a night on the town, you could save a bundle.

Through tonight, save 75% off a hard cover 8.5x11 inch photo book. I believe Walgreens uses Snapfish for their photo books, but don't quote me on that. Regardless, at 75% off...this is a bargain for a photo book!

Fred Meyer: 25% off Bedding/Bath + 10% Q

Today & tomorrow you can save 25% off bedding, bath, closet storage & organizers at Fred Meyer with this printable coupon. There is also an additional 10% off Home purchases coupon which can be stacked on bedding & bath purchases for a total of 35% off those items!

The Foundary: Lots of Decor Items on Sale

I tend to use a lot of modern pieces when decorating my home. Which is why I flipped my lid when I saw the ceramic bird feeder shown above. I love, love, love it! It looks retro & modern at the same time. It reminds me of something you would see in an episode of The Brady Bunch (or The Jetsons!).

Right now there are tons of decor items on sale at The Foundary. Throw pillows, mosaics, even furniture are on all sale. Go check out The Foundary & see if you find anything you like as much I like that bird feeder!

Spring Break Hotel Sale in Myrtle Beach

I have been wanting to vacation in Myrtle Beach for a long time now. My parents went there 2 years ago & fell in love with it. 1 Hour of Parent a Discount!

Rarely do you see discounts on professional services, so when they come along, it's something to take note of. If you are a parent who is at the end of your rope, this is definitely something you want to check out.

Margit Crane is a former teacher & school counselor who is now a parenting coach, public speaker, & award winning author. She specializes in working with families with Gifted or Gifted with ADD/ADHD teens & tweens, however she does work with parents who have younger children as well. She coaches families on how to communicate better, increase understanding & respect, & have more fun together! Margit has been featured in Parent Map, Seattle's Child, & on KOMO News Radio. Additionally, Margit won an award for Inspiring High School Educator from UC San Diego in 2002 & her her M.Ed. thesis was cited as a notable contribution to 300 years of Jewish Education by the American Jewish Archives.

Now why am I telling you all about Margit? Here's why: Normally she charges $160 for a 1 hour phone consultation. Honestly, that is a reasonable price. However, through the 26th, you can purchase a 1 hour phone consult for $116! You can discuss & come up with a plan on virtually any parenting topic; ADD/ADHD, communication issues, 504 or IEP plans, how to motivate your kids, & more. Margit states you will have at least 3 new solutions to your parenting concern after you consultation. That alone makes this deal worth it!

Just like most of the deals I post, there is some fine print with this deal. Each family is limited to one session & you must use your session before April 25, 2011. However, those are pretty minor.

I should say that I've never met with or worked with Margit. I do know a peer of hers & she speaks very highly of Margit, though. If you are a parent (or know a parent) who feels like you are at the end of your rope, consider taking advantage of this promotion. Parenting is a hard gig & if you could make your life a little easier...& your family a little happier...then this would be money well spent.

1 Free Night at HRH Suites via Jetsetter

If you still have your $75 credit from Jetsetter, you can get a free night at the HRH Suites at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas! The rooms are on sale at Jetsetter starting at $75. These aren't your average rooms, either. These are 700 sq. ft. suites that opened in December 2009.

My husband stayed at the HRH Suites last year while at a convention & he loved it. They are much nicer than the rest of the Hard Rock Hotel (it's like a hotel within a hotel), so don't worry about the rooms being dated or worn out.

Even if you don't have any credit remaining, these rooms are a bargain starting at $75! To compare, the prices start at $109 on the HRH Suites website. If you want to get a little sunshine, check out this sale (& other travel destinations) out over at Jetsetter.

Free Unlimited Streaming Video from Amazon

If you have an Amazon Prime membership like I do, you know how awesome it is. (If you don't, sign up for Amazon Mom & get a free 3 month Amazon Prime membership.) I really, really, really love Amazon Prime.

Today Amazon announced that Amazon Prime memberships come with a new feature: unlimited instant streaming of movies & TV shows. You can instantly watch them on your PC, Mac, or Internet connected TV's, Blu Ray players, or set top boxes.

I wish it streamed over the Wii like Netflix, because then I could take advantage of this offer. I suppose I could watch on my PC, but that's not much fun. However, I suppose using a laptop in bed would work if you don't have a compatible TV or other device!

Regardless, this is an excellent additional benefit to Amazon Prime. Thanks so much, Amazon!

Enter to Win a Kindle!

Head over to Mambo Sprouts on Facebook & "like" them (go ahead & "like" BMIM while you are at it). Once you've done so, you will be entered to win a Kindle! If you already "like" Mambo Sprouts, you're already entered. They are giving the Kindle away in honor of George Washington's birthday.

If you want an an additional entry (& who wouldn't?), write a fun fact about George Washington on their wall.

Free Rental from Redbox

Head over to Redbox on Facebook & get a code for a free DVD rental good on 2/24. We don't have school this week, so a free movie on Thursday sounds good to me!

American Apparel Organic Onesies $5!

Today over at No More Rack you can get American Apparel organic cotton onesies for just $5! Plus, shipping is a flat $2 per item (pretty reasonable if you ask me). This is a great price on an organic baby essential!

Write the gift card code down (you'll need that when you're registering) & you will get $10 in credit to spend. Now, you must place an order of $20 or more to use that $10 credit, so either buy 4 onesies, or wait for something else on another day.

Sunday Coupon Preview

Sunday Coupon Preview is up & it appears like we will be getting 1 RedPlum insert this weekend (none in The Seattle Times). This isn't too unusual because coupons are scare over holiday weekends.

Enjoy the weekend off from clipping!

Lynnwood Borders Closing Sale

If you haven't heard, the Lynnwood Borders is closing. Today (Saturday, Feb. 19th) they are having their big closing sale. Everything will be 20-40% off (with a few exclusions) & you can use your Borders Rewards Benefits to accrue Borders Bucks.

Free Kids Craft at Lakeshore Learning

Head over to your local Lakeshore Learning tomorrow between 11-3 pm for the free kids craft. The project this week is a Presidential cute!

Zarbee's Natural Cough Syrup...Free!

I've mentioned how much I love Zarbee's before, & if you've been thinking about trying it, now is the time to do so! Zarbee's announced their Bottle Swap today & you can get a free bottle of Zarbee's cough syrup. Here's the details:
  1. Post a photo of you throwing your old cough medicine away on Zarbee's Facebook wall.

  2. Buy a bottle of Zarbee's at your local retailer by February 25, 2011.

  3. Mail your receipt to Zarbee's Bottle Swap P.O. Box 1367 Sandy, UT 84091 by March 31, 2011 & Zarbee's will reimburse you for the purchase price.

Honestly, this stuff worked better for me that prescription cold medicine. If you can get a bottle for free, you're crazy not to do so!

Awesome Amazon Friday Deals

Every Friday Amazon has their Friday sale & it's usually a random selection of stuff. Typically you can find at least several options of K Cups for your Keurig, but they haven't had any the last month or so. However, today there are lots of K Cups, Senseo pods, Earth's Best, & more. Remember to use the Subscribe & Save option if it's available to save even more!

Here are a few items I thought were worth checking out:

$2/1 Wholly Product Coupon (Organic!)

Here's a high value coupon you want to print out! It's a $2/1 Wholly product (guacamole, salsa, or queso) coupon. This should make for some inexpensive or possibly free condiments.

If you weren't aware, Wholly does offer organic guacamole, so consider using the coupon on that!

Thanks, Hip2Save.

Organic Whole Chicken $1.69/lb Today

Don't forget, today is the big 1 day sale at Whole Foods Market on organic whole chickens for just $1.69 per pound! This deal is so good that Whole Foods is limiting this to 10 chickens per person.

If you want to take advantage of this deal, head to your local Whole Foods now!

Free Shipping on Any Body Shop Order

Through February 21st, The Body Shop is offering free shipping on any order. Take a look at the Specials section to see what kind of deals you can find. Pay special attention to the Final Sale offerings.

I ordered the Pure Detox Wellbeing Starter Kit shown above. Originally it was $32 but is on sale for $10 (I paid $10.95 with tax). This will be my daughter's end of the year teacher gift. We'll include a card saying something like "After a crazy year of kindergarten, spend some time this summer detoxing." Isn't that cute?

Remember The Body Shop offers some organic products as well. Just do a search & see what comes up!

Trophy Cupcakes: 1 Dozen Half Off!

Puget Sound readers, this deal is delectable! This weekend over at Groupon, you can purchase a voucher for 1 dozen cupcakes from Trophy Cupcakes & Party for $16 (normally $33). The voucher is valid for 1 year, however there are a few dates that are excluded, so make sure you read the fine print before purchasing this deal.

I love Trophy Cupcakes. I will admit, they are not my favorite cupcake store in the Puget Sound area, but they are definitely yummy. This deal makes them a lot more affordable, too! Consider buying this voucher & using it for a birthday party, an open house, whatever. Your guests will thank you!

This deal is technically available for 2 days, but since there are a limited number of vouchers available to purchase, my guess is this will sell out. Don't delay if you want to purchase this one!

$5/$25 Old Navy Coupon

I haven't mentioned any of the Barker's Bones coupons for Old Navy in months because well, frankly....I thought they were pretty lame. However, head over to Old Navy on Facebook & "like" them ("like" BMIM while you're at it!) & click on the Barker's Bones tab.

There you will find a new Barker's Bones coupon for $5 off any purchase of $25 or more. It's valid through 3/3/11, so keep your eye out for a good sale to save even more!

The Limited: $10/$10 Coupon = Free Stuff

If you're a fan of The Limited, check out this new coupon! Through Sunday, you can save $10 off any purchase of $10 or more, both in store or online. Find something right around $10 & you've got yourself a nice freebie!

If you want to shop online, use code: FASHCASH to receive your discount. However, you'll pay shipping online, so take that into consideration.

Thanks, Mojo Savings!

Organic Flavored Creamer + Coupons

Organic Valley announced they are now selling organic flavored half & half today! In addition to the regular half & half, they have Hazelnut half & half, French Vanilla half & half, regular soy creamer, & French Vanilla soy creamer.

Print out the $.75/1 half & half coupon or the $1/1 soy coupon & look for these the next time you go to the grocery store! There are other printable Organic Valley coupons, so take a look at all of them & see what you want to print out. FYI, they do expire 30 days after printing, so you may want to wait for a sale before printing them.

I'm so excited about this. I prefer organic creamer, but every once in a while I want a flavored creamer. Now I can have both!

Veggie Tales DVDs just $5!

If you know a little one that love Veggie Tales, you must check out this sale! Select DVDs are on sale for only $5 each! This sale is good through 2/28/11 or while supplies last.

Cellfire Happy Hour Makes Me Happy

Log on to Cellfire because all day is Happy Hour. There should be a special coupon that you can save to your store's reward card that can be used on anything. I got a save $.55 coupon. Not life altering, but hey....I'll take it!

$5 Days at The Children's Place!

For 5 days The Children's Place will have their $5 Days sale going on. This sale is good both in store or online (get free shipping on orders of $50 or more with code: FSPRESIDENTS). I saw long sleeve t shirts, short sleeve t shirts, leggings, & more for only $5 each! Additionally, spring dresses are 25% off & the already reduced items are an extra 30% off (however those deals didn't seem that fantastic to me).

With this sale, I'm guessing you could stock up on spring clothing for your kids & not break the bank!

Better Oats Giveaway Ongoing

Just a reminder to go enter the Better Oats giveaway every day that is going over on their Facebook wall. Go “like” them on Facebook & click the “28 Days” tab. Every day they will pick a winner to receive one month’s worth of Better Oats.

Today’s flavor is Raw Pure & Simple Bare. This is one of their organic varieties & sounds really good!

1 Year of Maxim Magazine Free

If you know someone who reads Maxim, request a complimentary 1 year subscription now. These will go fast, so don't delay if you want to take advantage of this.

Heather's Favorite Stuff

I thought it would be fun to start a series where once a month I profile some of my favorite products. Don't get too excited; I'm not a national talk show host, so sadly, I won't be able to give my favorite things away. However, you might learn about a new product & since I aim to educate my readers about new items, I felt this would be a fun way to do it.

For February, my favorite thing (& my daughter's!) is Tasty Brand Organic Fruit Snacks. I have talked about these in the past, but if you haven't tried them, you really must! Here are a few reasons why I big heart love these fruit snacks:
  • They’re USDA certified organic.

  • They have no high fructose corn syrup in them.

  • They are gluten free.

  • There are no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives in these fruit snacks.

  • They are made with real fruit juice.

  • There are only 70 calories per pouch.

  • They’re vegan.

  • They are made in a completely allergen-free facility.

My daughter won't eat other fruit snacks after trying these. They are soft & yummy instead of hard & weird tasting (yes, I've tried them!). These are still a treat in our house, but it's one I feel OK about giving my daughter.

Tasty Brand just announced today that the fruit snacks are available at Costco warehouses in Southern California & Hawaii. I am praying they will come to Costco locations in Washington soon! If you want to try them & don't leave in CA or HI, check out the organic section at your local grocery store or snag some from Amazon (they are on sale there). I promise, your kids will thank you!

Julius the Monkey Sale at Target Today

I love Paul Frank's Julius the Monkey. I just think he's a great little character & is a nice alternative to the ones we see on every TV show, movie, etc. our kids watch. Today over at Target, all of their Daily Deals are Julius the Monkey items.

There are adult t shirts for $10, 3 piece pj sets for $18, & more. But my favorite deal is the Skurvy comforter set (twin $41.99, full $48.99). How cute is this for a kids bedroom?

Remember, all of Target's Daily Deals come with free shipping! If you don't like something, you can return the majority of items purchased online at your local Target store (read the details on any item before ordering; most can be returned in store).

1 Year Subscription to Prevention $7.97

Through February 17th, you can get a 1 year subscription to Prevention for only $7.97 over at Amazon. If you want to learn about living a healthier lifestyle, this is a great place to start & this subscription is certainly affordable!

Reminder: BRUS Great Trade In Event

Just a reminder that the Babies R Us Great Trade In Event is still going on. Here's the scoop: Through February 21st, bring in an old or used baby item such as a car seat, high chair, crib, stroller, etc. & get 25% off a new one! Babies 'R Us then takes the old ones & destroys them to ensure they aren't used. You can read all the details about this sale here.

Considering the Consumer Product Safety Commission has banned drop down cribs (this will go into effect in June of 2011), this is the perfect time to get a new one. This ban covers virtually all cribs currently in use in the USA. This sale is also a great way to save on a replacement seat if your car seat or booster seat are near their expiration date (yes, they have expiration dates!).

Here's a BOGO Free large jar candle or tumbler coupon from Yankee Candle. It's valid through 2/21/11.

Thanks, Carie.

My Shopping Trip Today: 90% Savings

People often think that in order to get great savings you need to buy massive quantities of products. That's not the case at all! Several items in my stockpile were running low, so I hit Target & Rite Aid today & saved 90%!

The items you see in the above photo would have cost $37.57 if I had paid full price (gasp!). However, I only spent $3.74. I got 100 Finish dish washing tablets, 2 full size deodorants, a full size lotion, & a bar of soap for less than the cost of a mocha!

I don't know about you, but I'm convinced 90% savings is worth the hour or so I spend clipping & organizing my coupons each week. If you had a great shopping trip lately, leave a comment & let us know about it!
