Klean Kanteen Giveaway

We all know that from a fiscal standpoint, bottled water doesn't make sense. From an ecological standpoint, bottled water is equally as bad. According to Food & Water Watch, bottled water production in the United States used the energy equivalent of 32 & 54 million barrels of oil to produce & transport plastic water bottles in 2007. That's enough oil to fuel about 1.5 million cars for a year!

As if that isn't bad enough, about 75% of those plastic bottles end up in our landfills or as litter. Plastic bottles are estimated to sit in landfills for 450 years before they degrade. But "degrade" is rather vague; will a plastic water bottle ever fully decompose?

This is why a reusable water bottle is such a good investment. They can be a bit pricey, but they will pay for themselves easily if you stop buying bottled water. Plus, the benefit of less plastic sitting in our landfills is priceless!
