Albertsons Doublers

Don't forget to grab your doublers out of the flyer in today's paper. I almost screamed when I saw they were good for a full week! Leave a comment & tell us what bargains you got.

Fred Meyer Prevacid 24HR Deal

If you didn't print out your Rite Aid Video Values Prevacid coupon, don't fret...you can still get a great deal (possibly free?) on Prevacid 24 Hr at Fred Meyer.

I'm not sure what Freddy's charges for Prevacid 24Hr, but my guess is they are the same as the other stores, so we'll go with that assumption. That would mean you could get the 14 count box for $11.99, use the $6 off Fred Meyer eCoupon, pay $5.99 & then submit for the rebate & get this free. There's also a $10 Fred Meyer eCoupon if you want to save on a larger box.

It's worth repeating that even if you don't need this, if you can get it free (& not be strapped while you wait for the rebate to come back), it would be a great way to donate something for those less fortunate & not cost you anything.

Entertainment Weekly $10/1 Year

This is an insanely cheap deal on Entertainment Weekly. Amazon has a one year subscription for only $10, which works out to be about 19 cents an issue!

Thanks to Smart Couponing for this screamin' deal.

Free Nabisco Cookies

Update: The promo is live now, so go print your coupon!

If you're on Facebook, become a fan of Nabisco Cookies, & then log on early tomorrow! There are a limited number of coupons that will be sent out from their Fan page for a free box of cookies when you buy another box of Nabisco cookies & 1 gallon of milk. I mean, who doesn't love the idea of free cookies?

My 65 cent Rite Aid Score

UPDATE: I was reviewing my receipt & realized I was charged too much for the Blistex I purchased, so I went back to Rite Aid. I have no idea what the manager did, but I do know that after the return & repurchase, I was credited $1.81 back. That means my acutal net OOP was only 65 cents for all of that (after coupons & rebate)! Holy cow....I didn't even pay the entire sales tax.

I'm telling you, if you aren't using coupons, you're paying too much!

I did awesome at Rite Aid today! I got all the stuff you see pictured for $8.46, but will submit for a 1/2 purchase price rebate for the Prevacid & receive $6 back, making my OOP $2.46. Essentially I only paid for the tax, since my original subtotal was $22.18! That's a savings of 89%....not too shabby.

Free Prevacid 24 Hour at Rite Aid

Wanna score a 14 count box of Prevacid 24 Hour for free? Here's how:

Go join Rite Aid's Video Values program & watch the video on Prevacid 24 Hour. Note: This coupon will NOT be there after 2/28 so do this today! Print out the $6 off coupon you get by watching the video.

Buy the 14 count box for $11.99 (online price; this may vary in store) - $6 off coupon & pay $5.99. Then cut out the rebate form from the last page of the Parade section from today's paper & submit to get 50% of the price of the product back in the form of a rebate. You should get back $6 from Prevacid, making this a freebie!

Remember, you need to watch the video today & get today's paper for the rebate (or score one from a neighbor who gets the paper). If you don't suffer from heartburn, donate the item to your local food bank; they are always looking for over the counter drugs & toiletries.

Thanks to my buddy Janelle for giving me a head's up about the rebate form!

Rite Aid Video Values Explained

If you’re not familiar with Rite Aid, you may be missing out on an awesome program that they offer. It’s called the Video Values program & it’s ridiculously easy to earn Rite Aid coupons.

All you need to do is create an account & watch videos to earn coupons & credits. The coupons are manufacturer coupons that are for the video you just watched. For instance, you might watch a 30 second video for Clorox bleach & earn a coupon for Clorox. Easy! Also, each video has a credit value & once you hit 20 credits, you earn a $5 off any $20 purchase coupon from Rite Aid.

I can hear it now: You’re thinking “That’s great, Heather, but how long does it take to watch them?” Not long at all! Most of the videos are less than a minute. I usually watch them (& I’ll admit….I never really pay attention to them!) when I’m going through my mail, sorting bills to pay, etc.

If you don’t really care about the specific products featured & simply want the $5 off $20 coupon, my advice is to click on the videos with the higher credit amounts & earn that coupon faster. Really, you should be able to earn the $5 off $20 coupon in less than 10 minutes; my guess is closer to 5.

Sign up here to start participating in Video Values. It’s a great way to score some deals at Rite Aid & stretch a buck!

Clothing Clearance at Amazon

Through Monday, Amazon is taking an additional 20% off clothing clearance items, for a total of up to 75% off! This Calvin Klein men's shirt would be only $16.80 & this girl's sweater (how cute is that for spring wardrobes?!) would be just $6.24!

Most of these items should ship free with Super Saver Shipping (orders over $25) or free if you have Amazon Prime membership.

Coupon Organizer Giveaway

I know some of you are new to couponing. And I know it can be overwhelming. Where do I get my coupons? How do I build up a coupon stash? How do I keep my coupons organized? It's enough to turn people off to the idea of clipping (& using!) coupons.

So, in order to jumpstart things for one lucky reader, I've purchased a wallet coupon organizer & loaded it up with over $100 in coupons! Oh, & that includes $20 worth of coupons for organic or natural items! The organizer will easily fit into your purse & has 12 sections such as Baking Products, Dairy & Meat, Cleaning Products, & more. This should allow you to get used to couponing. You will likely outgrow this organizer eventually, however, it's a great resource to get you started (or if you're already a coupon pro, hey...you'll get over $100 worth of coupons to add to your stash!).

Now, I want the winner to be someone who really wants to give couponing a try. So, only enter if you really, genuinely want this prize. Here are the ways to enter:

1) Leave a comment here & include a way to contact you if you're the winner (Facebook fans, I can PM you via Facebook).

2) If you have a blog, blog about the giveaway. Then come back & leave a comment with a link to your posting. Me likey the linkey's!

3) Leave a comment on your Facebook page with a link to the giveaway. Then come back & leave a comment & link.

4) Refer a friend to BMIM, have them leave a comment, & include your name as the referral source.
That's it! The contest will end at 10 pm PST on March 5th & I will notify the winner on March 6th. The winner will be determined by Random.org. So go ahead....leave a comment & get yourself entered!

$5 off Clorox ToiletWand

Seriously, cleaning the toilet is no fun. And paying for products to clean the toilet is like adding insult to injury. So print this coupon & get $5 off the Clorox ToiletWand System (make sure to hit your back button twice to generate a second coupon!). Then convince your family that you did your part by saving some cash & they should do their part by doing the actual cleaning.

Thanks to my good friend Janelle for sending me the link for this high value coupon!

Thanks to Good Deal Mama for sharing this massive score!

HOT Rite Aid Coupon

I love Rite Aid for many reasons. First & foremost, they have an amazing coupon policy. And it's online so you can print it out & take it with you to avoid any hassles.

Rite Aid released a new $3 off your next purchase of $15 or more coupon. It's valid through 3/31/10 & is a PDF, so print out a few. Here's where it gets really good: You can use this coupon before manufacturer coupons! Yep, just have $15 worth of stuff, use this Rite Aid coupon & get $3 off, then use MQs & get additional money off. I have walked out of Rite Aid with free stuff doing this many times!

Pictureka Flipper $1.98 at Toys R Us

My daughter got Pictureka Flipper for Christmas & loves it. It's on sale this week at Toys R Us for $6.98, but use this $5 off coupon & get it for only $1.98. I'm telling you....I did not get it that cheap!

When I was at Target on Monday I used the same $5 coupon & got the travel Pictureka game for 99 cents. Some of the travel games are priced at $5.24 & some are priced at $5.99 (the only difference is the $5.99 one comes with a $5 coupon in it), but the lower priced one has been sold out for weeks, so I just got the $5.99 one. Print off 2 coupons & get both. If Toys R Us is sold out (or you just want to go to one store) take your Toys R Us ad from the paper into Target & have them price match the Pictureka Flipper game & get it there for only $1.98 as well.

Thanks to Clippin' with Carie for finding this bargain!

$4 off Method Laundry Detergent

Last week there was a $4/1 coupon for Method detergent online, but it hit it's print limit very quickly, so I didn't even post about it. I figured, why torture you with a deal you couldn't get? But now the $4/1 coupon is back! Go print it out FAST if you want it & remember to hit your back button two times after it starts printing to generate a second coupon.

This laundry detergent isn't organic, but according to Method's website, it is made using 95% natural & renewable ingredients. It's also biodegradable & non-toxic. Sounds like a great product & I can't wait to try it!

Update: According to my friend Amber over at Coupon Connections NW, the 25 load bottle is on sale at Bartell's this week for $4.99. Use the coupon & get this for only 99 cents!

And it's on sale this week at Target! $14.99 for the 50 load bottle & $7.99 for the 25 load bottle. You could score the smaller bottle for only $3.99. Now I have a reason to head back to Target (like I really need one!).

Also, they have winter clearance items $2.99 & under. I love stocking up for next year when they have these kinds of sales. Even if you guessed wrong on the size, you can sell them for what you paid for them, so there's really zero risk doing this. Check everything out here.

Don't forget to use this coupon & get an extra 15% off your entire purchase. It's good either in store or online.

You can get all the details here.

Head over to IHOP & make a donation to a worthy cause tomorrow. Win/win for everyone!

90% Savings at Target

I totally scored at Target today! I saved 75% on my purchases today, but I also has part of a gift card from the Quaker deal from a few weeks back, & got a gift card, so my net out of pocket was really only 10%! Here's what I bought:

  • 5 boxes of Pop Tarts (12 count) & price matched with the Kmart ad: $10, but received a $5 gift card
  • Pictureka travel game $5.99 - $5 coupon = 99 cents
  • Tim Tam cookies $2 sale price - $1 coupon = $1
  • Box of 32 Valentines $2.99 @ 90% off = 29 cents
  • 1st For Me Baby Alive doll $19.99 on clearance $4.98 - $5 coupon = 2 cents profit

I spent a total of $13.30 with tax, used remaining $2.40 on my gift card, paid $10.90 but received a $5 gift card. So that was like paying $5.90, or 10% for all of that stuff!!

The Baby Alive deal is an unadvertised clearance item, so you will need to scan it to check the price. Only the doll with the brown hair & brown eyes is on sale (I have no idea why, but I checked them all). And you need to try the Tim Tam cookies; when I lived in Australia, we used to eat these & they are delish! Of course, every self respecting Aussie calls them "biscuits" but regardless, they are yummy. The entire Valentine's Day section is 90% off, so grab a few things for next year & save big time.

If you score anything at Target this week, leave a message. Remember, YMMV (your mileage may vary) depending on the clerk, manager, etc. at your local Target. It can be hit or miss there with coupons, but today was a very good day for me.

Save at a Swanky Seattle Hotel

That was a lot of "s" words in my title, but it's true! My good friend, Linda is a loyal BMIM reader & has given me the go ahead to fill you guys in on an amazing deal. This one will be for my local readers....or anyone, really, if you're willing to travel to Seattle.

The Maxwell Hotel is a brand new hotel opening up in Seattle. It is within walking distance to the Pacific Science Center, Space Needle, & EMP (Experience Music Project). They are offering up some great rates to launch the hotel.

March 22nd - April 4th: $79 a night (+ tax). Yes, $79 a night!!
April 5th - April 30th: $109 a night (+ tax).
After May 1st the typical rate will be $159 a night (+ tax).

Your stay will include free parking, discounted Monorail tickets, complimentary wi-fi & wired internet access, complimentary loaner bikes, & in room coffee makers, refrigeratiors, & microwaves.

The Maxwell has also set up a partnership with Intiman Theater and are proud to extend a 25% discount on tickets. When guests reserve a room at The Maxwell Hotel they will be given a special discount code that will allow them to purchase tickets on the Intiman website with the special discount.

This would make for an amazing in city getaway. I love being a tourist in my own hometown, but often have a hard time justifying the cost. This is such a bargain it makes it easy! If you want to take advantage of this fantastic offer, email reservations@themaxwellhotel.com. Please be aware that reservations & rates are based on availability.

If you go, make sure you say hello & thank you to Linda!

More Cheap Laundry Detergent

There's another great deal out there this week on laundry detergent. Kmart has 72 oz bottles of Purex on sale for 2 for $8. Use the BOGO Free coupon from the 2/21 RedPlum insert & subtract $4. You'll pay $4 for 2 72 oz. bottles, or $2 each!

Or buy 2 boxes of the Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets for $10, use the BOGO Free coupon, & get 2 boxes for $5 or $2.50 each.

Thanks to Clippin' with Carie for this bargain!

Pop Tarts $1 Each at Target

I love Target....love it. But I try & avoid it unless there are some really good deals to be had. Otherwise I will black out & wake up in a stupor on top of a pile of red & white shopping bags. But this is a great deal on Pop Tarts, so it's worth the risk.

Right now Kmart has the 12 count boxes of Pop Tarts on sale for $2 each (last page of the ad). Take that ad to Target & have them price match & buy 5 boxes for $10. You will get back a $5 Target Gift card, bringing the net cost of each box down to $1!

Thanks to Totally Target for this deal.

Free Fresco Taco at Taco Bell

Click here to get a coupon for a free Fresco Taco from Taco Bell. There are several options to choose from & all have less than 180 calories & 7 grams of fat or less. If you try one, come back & leave a comment & tell us what you thought about the taco.

8x10 Magazine Photo $1.99 Today Only

UPDATE: I am a complete moron; I forgot the code! Use code: COVERIT at checkout to bring the price down to $1.99. Sorry guys!

Walgreens will have a week of one day only photo specials & today is the kick off day. The deal for Sunday is adorable!

Today only you can make a 8x10 magazine cover print for only $1.99. Pick it up in store & you won't pay any shipping; mine came to $2.15 with tax. You simply upload your photos, click on Gifts, then Keepsake Gifts, then Magazine Covers & pick the one you want to create. They have TV Guide, Redbook, Babytalk, & more.

This would make a great little gift by popping it into a frame. If you don't have children, that's OK....pick a photo from a vacation, honeymoon, etc. & surprise someone you love.

Click here to get started, but hurry...this is only good through tonight!

15% off at the Gymboree Outlet

I don't think I've ever seen a coupon for the Gymboree Outlet before, so this is one I am certainly gonna print! I have a slight addiction to Gymboree & yes, I know there's the huge "Gymbo Outlet isn't as good as retail Gymbo" debate out there, but if I can get a deal....I don't care. And I LOVE that the Gymbo Outlets have lines from last year so you can add pieces to what you already have or just grab some pieces in a new size from your past favorite lines. I go there so often, the clerks know me. I can't decide if that's kinda cool or kinda scary.

So, print out this 15% off your entire purchase coupon for the Gymboree Outlet. You can also earn Gymbucks at the outlet now (although you have to redeem them at the retail Gymbo's) & it may even still be Gymbuck earning right now. I'm not positive on that, so double check. If it is....double score! The coupon is valid through March 7th, so you can also wait until the next line comes out.

Thanks to Thrifty NW Mom for this!

2/21 Only: 20% off at Big Lots

I've only been in Big Lots once & I didn't buy anything because I was pressed for time, but I've heard you can get some great deals. I've also heard they occasionally have great prices on organic items, so I need to go & spend some time roaming the store. But I do know that they don't take any manufacturer coupons, so normally the price you see is the price you pay.

However, tomorrow, Feb. 21st only, they will take 20% off your entire purchase with this coupon. If you go & score some bargains, come back & post about it!

Thanks to Mama Cheaps for this.

Free Photo Book for the Troops

I love when I can get a great deal for my family, but if a deal comes along that I can't utilize but helps someone else in need....well, I think I actually love those more. And this is one of those deals.

Right now the USO is offering up a free soft cover 20 page 5x7 photo book for troops stationed anywhere with a APO/FPO or MPO mailing address. In fact, the USO is even paying the shipping! These books are designed to fit into fatigue cargo pockets, so that soldiers can keep photos of their loved ones on them. How amazing is that?

Click here to get your coupon code, but hurry, because there is only a limited number available. Thanks to Collin at Hip2Save for posting this special deal.

Advertise for Free on Facebook

If you have a business you want to promote on Facebook, click here to get a $78 Facebook advertising credit. The code is valid through June 1, 2010. I would think realtors, stylists, photographers, etc. would benefit from this a lot!

Thanks to Money Saving Mom for this fantastic find!

Cheap Magazine Subscriptions

Wanna snag a 12 month subscription to Weight Watchers, Taste of Home, or Parents for only $3.75 for the entire year? Then head over to Best Deal Magazines & enter in code: WKLYSPEC at checkout. This deal is good through Feb. 28th.

I love getting cheap magazine subscriptions & they make great gifts, too. Although I don't think I'd send anyone Weight Watchers as a gift!

Thanks to Coupon Geek for posting this.

Today Only: Organic Snacks Sale

Today only, Amazon has a few great deals on organic snacks. I love that you don't even need to leave your house for these deals; I am all about shopping in my slippers! My daughter loves both of these items & I bet your kids (or you!) will as well.

First, YummyEarth Organic Lollipops are on sale for $11.55. That may seem like a lot, but you get 150 lollipops! That's only 8 cents a lollipop. Or you can get the 5 lb bag for only $17.50.

Next, take a look at the Clif Kids Twisted Fruit Ropes. They are on sale for $12.99 for 24 & that's actually not a bad price (the cheapest I've gotten these for on sale was 50 cents each at Fred Meyer). My daughter loves these, especially the sour apple flavor.

These all qualify for free shipping if you spend over $25 or if you have a Prime membership. But, if you sign up for Subscribe & Save, you can score an extra 15% off these prices & get free shipping. And you don't need to get another order; you can always go in & cancel your subscribe & save status on these items later!

Free Pretzel at Auntie Annie's 2/20

Tomorrow only between 10 am - 3 pm snag a free pretzel at Auntie Annie's. You can choose between an original or a cinnamon one (yum!). Click here to read all the details.

Thanks to The Saving Addiction for this find.

Mega Swagbucks Day

Don't forget that today is a MEGA Swagbucks day! You may get lucky & earn up to 100 Swagbucks instead of the usual 1 or 2.

Also, there should be a new Swagcode under the Special Offers tab. Just click through all the offers (hit skip), get your Swagcode, go back to the home page & enter it to see how many Swagbucks you've won. It's that easy.

Are you still waiting to sign up for Swagbucks? Get in on the action here. I've only been Swagging for a few weeks & already have enough for 1 Amazon gift card & almost have enough for a second Amazon card. All for searching the web using Swagbucks instead of Google. How cool is that?

New Old Navy Weekly Coupons

It's Thursday so that means new coupons from Old Navy Weekly ! Just like always, you will need to hunt for the coupons & you can only print one coupon out to use. Here are the ones I found (hit the "try a new style" to reset the screen & search for different coupons):

  • $10 off any $50 0r greater purchase: Click on the yellow short sleeved t shirt & then on the jeans right below the shirt.
  • 10% off any in store purchase: Click on the blue striped tank top & the jeans right below the tank top.
  • 15% off any in store purchase: Click on "Amy" in the yellow circle (the head with the black hair cut in the bob on the far right) after you've created the outfit with the striped tank top & jeans.
  • $50 off any in store purchase of $100 or more: These are all gone already.
  • $15 off any in store purchase of $75 or more: Click the yellow short sleeved t shirt & then any pair of jeans. Cancel the coupon that pops up ($10 off any $50+ purchase) & then click on the stars that pop up behind "Kelly's" head (in the far right). This one is somewhat difficult to get.

If you find any that I've missed, let me know & I will update the list.

Free Murad at Sephora

Place any $25 or greater order at Sephora & use code: REFORM at checkout to score deluxe samples of Murad's Age Reform Regimen for free. Sephora claims this freebie is a $44 value.

But really....do we need a reason to shop at Sephora? I know I don't. So the freebies are just the icing on the cake in my book!

Free Origins Facial This Weekend

Head over to your local Origins counter between 2/18-2/21 for a free Redness Relief Mini Facial. Click here to find participating locations. I am a total product whore & will try anything, so this is my kind of score!

Thanks to Unemployment Survival for this awesome freebie.

Hello Moscow

Redbox Code 2/18 Only

Update: It appears the SMRTY3 code isn't working. But use DVDONME or BREAKROOM & you should be all set with a free movie rental. Of course, it's all about Grey's Anatomy in my house, tonight!

Today only you can rent a movie at any Redbox kiosk for free. Enter code: SMRTRY3. It's worth noting that this code is good once per card, so you could use it more than once assuming you used a different debit or credit card.

Euro-Pro Shark Multi Vac $44.99

Thursday, Feb. 18th only, you can score the Euro-Pro Shark Multi Vac for $39.99 + $5 shipping on Woot. The cheapest price I could find currently was $79 on Amazon, so this is quite a bargain. But it's Thursday only, so hurry if you want one!

Free Lemon Heads

I love Lemon Heads candy. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, but I rarely (& when I say rarely, I mean about once every 5 years) buy them. Go here to get a free box of Lemon Heads. Easter's coming....just sayin.'

Thanks to Fistful of Coupons for posting this freebie.

Kate Quinn Organic Clothing Sale

I love Kate Quinn's organic clothing line. The stuff is adorable & I love that it's made from 100% certified organic material. If you knew what happened to cotton, trust me...you'd want your kids wearing organic clothing. It's pretty impossible to dress them in all organic clothing, & it would be pretty pricey even if you could do it. So when a sale this good comes along, I get uber excited about it.

Click here to check out the sale items. Prices start at $10 but use code: HURRIEDHOME20 & get an additional 20% off. $8 for a certified organic clothing item is insanely cheap, people! Oh, & it's worth noting that the proceeds from this sale are going to the relief work in Haiti.

Luckily, I live close enough that I can go to the sample sales. So, if you're in the Puget Sound area, remember you can always check out Kate Quinn that way, too.

Thanks to Organic Deals & Coupons for this find!

Need Vs. Greed

Many people who coupon (or simply bargain hunt) know that when a great deal comes up, you buy more than what you need at the moment & keep some for later. It's generally referred to as "stockpiling." When you first start couponing, you will likely notice that you're spending the same amount of money, but getting more stuff. However, after a while, you should see that you are spending less. Why? Because of your stockpile at home.

I'm all for stockpiling; I do it myself. If it's an item I will use. I don't need to buy diapers anymore, so I don't go out & stockpile diapers just because you can get them for $3 a pack. However, there are people that do that. And I'll admit it: They annoy me.

Here are the 2 kinds of couponers that I have a problem with.

1) Shelf cleaners. I'm referring to the people who walk into a store looking for one item that's on sale & buy every last one of them. Really....do you need 65 boxes of Tampax? What about the other people out there who need some tampons? Call me crazy, but I think buying 10 boxes & leaving some for others is the way to go. It brings good Coupon Karma your way.

2) Seek & Destroyers. These are the people who will destroy the deal for everyone else. They are similar to shelf cleaners, but go one step farther....they ruin it for everyone. And ironically, they often do this on items they don't even need. They take things to the extreme & force stores to pull the items off the shelves, or cancel the promo altogether.

And this is the case with the free Purex deal at Fred Meyer & Kroger affiliates that is going on right now. 50 oz. bottles of Purex are on sale for $1.99 with the in ad coupon, but if you buy 2 bottles you get a $4 Catalina coupon for your next purchase, essentially making those 2 bottles of Purex free. Sounds like a good deal if you need laundry detergent. Heck, it's even a good deal to buy a few & donate them to a food bank. But some idiot in the Cincinnati area went into several Kroger stores & bought 800 bottles of Purex. 800 BOTTLES. Seriously, who needs that many bottles of laundry detergent? Um...no one! So now Catalina is pulling the $4 coupon deal. Sure, you can still buy them for $1.99 a bottle, but you can't get them free. All because some jerk (I want to use a different word, but in order not to offend any readers, I'm going to stick with "jerk") had to go & ruin it for everyone.

So go ahead & stockpile. Go ahead & buy a few items to donate to the less fortunate. But before you go insane, clean the shelves, & ruin a deal that others could benefit from, ask yourself "Is this need or greed?" If everyone acted with integrity, couponers wouldn't get harassed by clerks & deals wouldn't get pulled like this.

OK, my rant is over. Hopefully I didn't offend any readers. If you have any thoughts on this, feel free to leave a comment. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this issue.

$1.50 off Kashi

Click here & print out 2 (hit your back button two times once your first coupon starts printing!) coupons for $1.50 off Kashi Heart to Heart cereal or crackers. My daughter & I use the Heart to Heart cereal to make Kashi Krispies (like Rice Krispies...but only with Kashi!). Click on the orange "get a coupon" tab at the top of the chalkboard.

Here are several ways to make money or get free products using this deal.

Walgreens: This week Olay shower gels are BOGO 1/2 off. Buy 2 at full price & 2 at half price & spend approx. $13.47+ tax.

Another Freebie from Eyes.Lips.Face

I've talked about E.L.F. (Eyes.Lips.Face.) before & I hope you guys have tried out their products. If not, here's an incentive that might convince you to try them. Wanna Save 94%? Clip Coupons!

I hear it all the time: "I'm not sure clipping coupons is worth my time." Let's take a look at my day, & you be the judge.

I went to 3 different stores today to snag some great deals. I'm going to make this easy & just give you totals spent & what I received.

Babies R Us: Spent $1.71 OOP (out of pocket)

Walgreens: Spent $5.11 OOP but received $6 RR = 89 cent profit

Safeway: Spent: $3.16 OOP

Total spent after profit: $3.98

For $3.98 I got 2 boxes of Revolution Foods Organic Mashups, 2 bags of Terra Chips, 1 8x10 Photo Collage, 1 Dove Men+Care Body Wash, 6 packs Orbit gum, 240 cotton rounds, 2 bags of Pop Chips, & 4 sticks of Right Guard deodorant. I would have spent $63.43+tax on these items if I hadn't clipped coupons & used in store discounts (Register Rewards & eGift Cards). That means I saved 94%! Actually, it was a bit more because I didn't include tax when I calculated the percentage, but you get my point.

Yes, I went to 3 stores. Yes, it took me an hour & forty five minutes. But I was able to shop by myself for an hour & forty five minutes; I was happy doing it! And really.....I'm okay with spending that time shopping if I can save 94%. Additionally, I'm donating the deodorant & shower gel to a food shelter, which makes me feel even better about spending the time couponing. I love that someone else can benefit from my time spent clipping coupons.

So you tell me....would you spend less than 2 hours shopping if you could save 94%?

Get 4 Sticks of Right Guard Free

Safeway has an unadvertised sale on Right Guard going on. It's on sale through Tuesday, Feb. 23rd for 10/$10. Use 2 of these $2/2 coupons & get 4 sticks of deodorant for free (just pay the sales tax)!
My husband doesn't like the gel deodorant, so I'll be donating these to the food bank. Remember, that food stamps do not cover toiletries, so food banks are in desperate need of shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, diapers, etc. Why not get something for free with coupons & do something good for someone less fortunate?

Thanks to My Frugal Adventures for posting about this unadvertised deal! (Oh, & excuse the bad photo....I took it using my cell phone.)

Freebies at Babies R Us

Babies R Us & Toys R Us have a huge Presidents Day Sale going on. There are tons of products on sale, but I was super excited about the snacks on sale (who knew they had such a great selection of snack food, especially organic stuff?!).

First, you can score 2 bags of Terra Chips free. Yep, free. All varieties are on sale for 2/$2. Print out 2 $1/2 coupons here or use the ones that were in the 12/6 SS insert. Those coupons make these bags free! There was a hassle because they were not ringing up 2/$2, but I just smiled & waited (& waited & waited) patiently & the clerk finally got it to work. I'm telling you...a smile goes a long way towards getting the clerks to help you!

Next, all Revolution Foods items are on sale BOGO 1/2 off. This is a great deal for organic snacks! I got 2 boxes of the organic fruit mashups for my daughter's lunch box.

Don't forget to use your $5 eGift Card from becoming a Facebook Fan if you still have it.

So, I got 2 bags of Terra Chips & 2 boxes of Revolution Foods Organic Mashups for $1.71 after my coupons & eGift Card. That is insane!

Thanks to Hip2Save for posting the Terra Chips deal!

Hotslings $12.98 at Babies R Us

If you know anything about Hotslings baby carriers, you know that a) people rave about them & b) depending on which one you pick, they can be pretty pricey. Some of them cost $105. So this is a smokin' hot deal!

Babies R Us has several patterns & sizes of Hotslings on clearance for $17.98. Use code: 935826 to take $5 off any sling (if you buy more than 1 sling, it will take $5 off each sling in your cart). And shipping is free!

Click here to check what sizes & patterns are available. Unsure of what size you are? Click here for the handy sizing chart. Note: Hotslings does make a sling out of organic cotton, however the organic version is not included in this sale. However, you can still use the code to take $5 off on any sling.

Seattle Helicopter Tour $135

This is a last minute Valentine's Day gift that is sure to make your loved one swoon. I realize that $135 isn't exactly inexpensive, but this is a really good deal.

You can take either 2 or 3 people on a helicopter tour around Seattle & see:

  • Downtown
  • Downtown Stadiums
  • Space Needle
  • Lake Union
  • University of Washington
  • Lake Washington
  • Ballard Locks and Ship Canal
  • Fisherman’s Terminal
  • Elliott Bay Marina

Wow! I'll go out on a limb & say that most Seattlites have never seen the city like this before. If you want to snag this deal, you have until Sunday evening to order your package.

Free Kids Craft Tomorrow

Head over to your local Lakeshore Learning tomorrow (Feb. 13th) between 11-3pm for the free kids craft. The project this week is called the "Future President's Tie" in honor of President's Day. What a fun way to remind your kids why they have Monday off from school!

Kids Eat Free at Ikea 2/13-2/15

This weekend kids eat free at Ikea. You can choose any 3 kid sized items to create a meal including such options as mac & cheese, five Swedish meatballs, yogurt, milk, & more. I suppose this won't really be free if you spend a bunch of money at Ikea, though!

Mega Swagbucks Day

Don't forget that today is a MEGA Swagbucks day! You may get lucky & earn up to 100 Swagbucks instead of the usual 1 or 2. I've already won 4 this morning.

I've only been Swagging for a few weeks & already have about 65 or so. And all for searching the web using Swagbucks instead of Google. How cool is that?
